Marry Gomez

Marry is a California State University, Long Beach graduate with a B.A in Journalism and Public Relations. Her experience includes working in the education, nonprofit, entertainment and hospitality industries.

Currently, Marry is the Communications Specialist for the Long Beach Unified School District, which serves nearly 68,000 students in one of the most diverse cities in California. LBUSD is the fourth largest school district in the state.

As a first-generation college graduate, the importance of an education has been instilled in Marry since she was young. Growing up, Marry's parents always reminded her that they will always do anything they can to leave her with the greatest gift: an education. Now at LBUSD, she is able to play a small role in helping several others like herself receive the same.

 

Marry's career started at Make-A-Wish Orange County and the Inland Empire, where she managed all social media accounts and assisted with any public relations needs. Under her management, our social media following increased by 40% on Instagram and 20% on LinkedIn.

With social media being a fairly new career field, Marry is a firm believer that social media should be entertaining, interactive and informative. After all, a successful social media post will leave an audience wanting to learn more and/or immediately wanting to share the message with others. 

Marry's past experience at Kari Feinstein Public Relations allowed her to work hands on with social media marketing and event planning through her assistance with the planning and execution of several annual events, such as the Emmys and Oscars Style Lounge events. Additionally, during her college career, she was an event intern for the 2016 Los Angeles Film Festival and 2017 Spirit Awards, where she worked on-site for movie premieres, after-parties, panels and receptions.
